Ki Sisa – Ki Sisa Es Rosh 5731

When we make mistakes in our lives we fix them through a process of  Teshuva in which we regret our past and refocus our energy towards goodness. What about the damage done to our souls on a core level beyond the reach of our conscious mind? What about the shame at the essence of our souls, for having wasted a moment or a lifetime on trivial matters and not fulfilling our G-dly mission for which our souls descended? A dialog between Moshe and G-d about healing the scars and repairing souls at their quintessential core.

Beshalach – Vayomer Moshe Ichluhu Hayom

A Fascinating discourse about the manna. Of the subjects discussed are: The relationship of the manna to Shabbos. The difference of the spiritual effects of eating during the week and the eating of Shabbos. The difference of our Shabbos prayers and our weekday prayer. Our ability to connect in a very real way to that which is beyond time and space.

Beshalach – Lehavin Inyan Lechem Mishne Class 2

An exploration of the spiritual dynamics of eating. How we can strengthen the powers of our souls when we  eat properly. We even bring an added dose of potent energy into all of the spiritual cosmos through proper intentions while eating. The manna that the Jews ate for forty years in the desert had even greater spiritual powers. Finally Shabbos is greater then the manna therefor it didn’t fall on Shabbos.

Vaera – Va’Yedaber Elokim El Moshe 5572

The backbreaking labor of the Jewish Nation in Egypt, served as a preparation to enable the Torah to be given to them. The Mitzvot that we perform post Sinai are infinitely higher then the Mitzvot preformed by our Patriarchs.   To achieve such heights, the generation of the exodus who were a reincarnation of the dispersed generation,  required a deep soul cleansing.   That is the content of G-d’s response to Moshe in the opening verses of this Torah portion.

Shemos – Lehavin Mamar Razal Al Ha’Pasuk Ki Tovim Dodecha Mi’Yayin

Torah is compared to wine because like wine it reveals the secret. That is, a irrational love for G-d which is hidden at the core of every soul it can only be revealed when the wine – Torah and Mitzvos – enter. However the  blessing preceding the Mitzvah is higher then the Mitzvah itself, for it draws down an encompassing light upon the soul enabling the Mitzvah to be preformed.

Ki Sisa – Zeh Yitnu

Our love for G-D comes in two ways. One that we can produce through our contemplation and meditation. The other comes as a gift from above after we’ve done our part. The latter is far greater then the former, but not everyone  merits to experience that higher connection with G-D.  These two forms of love are alluded to in the twenty Geiro coin that made up the holy  Shekel, described in this Torah portion. What is required from us all is to give half the Shekel, the human effort  which is in our reach.
